About Us

Our goal is to provide you with the latest health care options available, within a state-of-the-art facility and a most professionally warm and caring staff simply to ensure the health and well being of all the children we are fortunate enough to care for.

All after-hours calls will be directly connected through “Professionally Speaking” to the on-call doctor. Dr. Cohen will personally answer on-call inquiries from 7 am – 10 pm.

From 10pm – 7am all calls will be answered by a night nurse for on-call inquiries. You will always be able to speak with a Health Care Professional, 24 hours a day and 7 days a week.

When Dr. Matt is on vacation or not in the office Dr. Hechanova will be available at all times.

Hello, my name is Erika and I’m currently employed by Dr. Matthew Cohen as a Receptionist. I am from Island Park, NY and have served as an EMT for the last 3 years. I enjoy working with families and patients in providing assistance with any needs as well as making their experience an overall positive one. Hello, my name is Juana Reese and I am a medical assistant at Dr. Cohen’s office. I am the mother of a beautiful 7 year old daughter and a handsome 3 year old son. When I am not at the office I enjoy baking with my kids.

Hello, my name is Kaila and I am a lifelong long beach native. I am a graduate of Molloy College, and current graduate student at Adelphi University. I love working with children and assisting parents with any questions they might have.

Hello, my name is Megan Maflin. I started working for Dr. Matt as a receptionist in 2012.

Now I’m the Office Manager. My favorite part of the job has been watching the patients grow over the years.

Safiah Levano

Hello, I’m Safiah Levano.
I recently joined Dr. Matt’s practice and I am so happy to be a part of the team here. I reside in Long Beach with my husband and our two beautiful daughters and enjoy the lifestyle of living by the sea. I’ve worked in medical office settings over 10 years specializing in insurance reimbursement and the medical billing process. Have a question on how your insurance processed a claim, why there is a remaining balance or anything related, I’m happy to help you!

Hi! My name is Christian Ciccarello and I am a medical assistant here at Dr. Cohen’s practice. I’m currently completing my bachelors degree in nursing so if I’m not in the office, I’m probably studying! My favorite things to do are playing tennis, traveling, and spending time with friends and family. Looking forward to seeing you soon!
